Tucker Brown
Tucker Brown is a first-year at UNC majoring in geography and global studies. He grew up in Boone, NC, and is incredibly passionate about environmental issues. He was the president of the Sustainability Club at his high school and is now helping organize a climate strike on campus.
Sophie Hughett
Sophie Hughett is a first-year at UNC majoring in Global Studies and Journalism. She grew up living in Kenya, Jordan, and Boone in western North Carolina. She’s been exposed to nature all her life and expresses her passion for it through nature photography and other activities.
Danielle Terblanche
Danielle Terblanche is a first-year at UNC from Hilton, South Africa and is majoring in neuroscience. She shared her insights on her personal relationship with nature and her community’s attitude towards environmental preservation.
Jake Nahama
Jake Nahama is a first-year at UNC majoring in Environmental Science. Coming from Bakersfield, California, he’s passionate about the outdoors and helps conduct marine science research at a lab on campus.
